A Review Prediction Models of Dust Phenomena and Data Collection Techniques

One of the most common phenomena in arid and semi-arid regions is the dust storm in the subtropical geographic latitudes. In recent years, the intensity  and frequency of these storms have increased in this area, and this phenomenon has caused massive damage to the communites by interrupting social and economic activities. by developing  of new science and technologies such as remote sensing, and geospatial information systems, numerical and  computing modeling  has been helped to  understand the different aspects of environmental problems, such as dust. This study reviews the techniques of data collection, data factors and dust prediction models needed to evaluate the spatial and  temporal dust phenomenon. Different models of dust forecasting in relation to GIS have a systematic approach. The results showed that DEAD, GOCART models are suitable on a global scale and are not recommended for Iran. After that, a HYSPLIT numerical model was implemented in the Ahwaz region, indicating the source of dust from Iraq and Syria.
